MET City International Half Marathon to Debut in Haryana on October 25, 2026
MET City International Half Marathon debuts on October 25, 2026, at Reliance MET City, Haryana, offering a flat, traffic-free 21.1K course, 10K and 5K races, and a prize pool of close to Rs. 9 lakh.
The event will feature a 21.1K Half Marathon, a 10K Timed Run and a 5K Fun Run/Walk, offering participation opportunities for experienced runners, first-time participants and families. The course will run through the approximately 8,250-acre planned township, where wide roads, green avenues and controlled crossings are expected to provide runners with an uninterrupted route.
Unlike races that use existing city roads and require runners to navigate traffic diversions, barricades, junctions or flyovers, the MET City course has been laid out within a planned township. The route will remain closed to traffic throughout the event, with organisers managing every crossing.
The course is lined with planted avenues, with trees running through the centre of the roads and along both sides. It is flat and straight, with no climbs, descents or flyovers. The route also avoids sharp turns, using gentle curves to allow runners to maintain their rhythm without repeated braking and acceleration.
Road corridors extend up to 60 metres in width, with multi-lane roads throughout the course. The organisers said the spacious route is intended to reduce congestion, weaving and jostling among participants. The roads feature well-laid, pothole-free tar surfaces rather than the concrete commonly found on city race routes.
The event carries a cash prize pool of close to Rs. 9 lakh across the 21.1K and 10K categories for men and women. The fastest man and woman in the Half Marathon will each receive Rs. 1,00,000.
The 21.1K race will flag off at 6:00 AM, followed by the 10K Timed Run at 6:30 AM and the 5K Fun Run/Walk at 7:00 AM. Participants are required to report one hour before their respective flag-off times. The cut-off time is 3 hours 30 minutes for the 21.1K, 90 minutes for the 10K and 60 minutes for the 5K.
Speaking about the event, Mr. Shrivallabh Goyal, CEO and Whole-Time Director, Reliance MET City, said, “We are incredibly proud to host this inaugural sporting event at Reliance MET City. Our city was meticulously planned to ensure people can live, work, and commute seamlessly. On 25 October, we are handing these very roads over to the running community. With a course that is flat, exceptionally wide, flanked by greenery on all sides, and completely closed to traffic for the morning, absolutely nothing will force athletes to break their stride. Whether a participant is chasing a personal best or crossing their very first finish line, we want them to experience the smooth, comfortable run that world-class urban planning provides.”
The 21.1K Half Marathon is open to runners aged 18 and above, while the 10K Timed Run is open to participants aged 15 and above. The 5K Fun Run/Walk is open to participants aged 12 and above.
Early-bird registration for the 21.1K is priced at Rs. 1,199 until 31 August, after which the fee will be Rs. 2,499. The 10K Timed Run is priced at Rs. 799 during the early-bird period and Rs. 1,699 thereafter. The 5K Fun Run/Walk costs Rs. 599 for early-bird entries and Rs. 1,199 thereafter.
